Another timely reminder to think before you click ‘post’ on a social networking site is an article in Lawyers Weekly entitled ‘The footprints of social networking’ (04/06/2009).
People failing to observe this very simple rule of social networking seem to keep finding themselves in trouble with the law. Please consider the following: if you are committing an illegal act, do you really think it is smart to film yourself doing it and then posting it on YouTube or bragging about it on Facebook?!
Materials you post on YouTube or Facebook may very well come back to haunt you in a very significant way, especially if the material is, or becomes, relevant in criminal investigations or legal proceedings.
