Knowledge3KM is a relatively young and often misunderstood discipline. This is perhaps because the practice of KM can vary significantly from organisation to organisation.

In some organisations KM is IT focused, while in other organisations it has been integrated into the functional areas of the business and IT plays only a supporting role in providing the framework for KM.

KM is further β€˜complicated’ by its varied practical implementation depending on the relevant industry, organisation and personnel in charge of the KM system.
