The Guardian article today, titled ‘Lawyers enjoying tweet taste of success‘ continues to illustrate the power of social media in a professional context and the increasing adoption of social media as a tool, even by the relatively conservative legal profession.
The article highlights that an increasing number of legal professionals ‘turn to social networking sites to bolster employment prospects’.
It also appears that success in social media requires a ‘distinct individual voice’, which is generally applicable to all other mediums so it makes good sense that social media is not an exception to that rule. In that sense social media is just like any other medium.
However the reach and impact of social media gives it its ubiquitous quality, which no other media can replicate.
