Hillary Clinton

Quote to live by …

Hillary Clinton quote

Dignity does not come from avenging insults, especially from violence that can never be justified. It comes from taking responsibility and advancing our common humanity.
Hillary Clinton

That’s what the United States of America could have chosen, but instead it chose this – quotes not to live by …

I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters.

He’s not a war hero – he’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.
(Talking about Senator John McCain.)

If you look at his wife, she was standing there, she had nothing to say, she probably — maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say, you tell me.
(Talking about the grief-stricken mother of a Muslim American soldier who gave his life in Iraq.)

My number was so incredible, and it was a very high draft number. Anyway, so I never had to do that, but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people.
(Comparing his time at military school with active military service, which he never did due to medical deferments for ‘heel spurs.’)

When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists … And some, I assume, are good people.

I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States …

It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!

The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

My IQ is one of the highest — and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure; it’s not your fault.

I know words, I have the best words.

When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different.

You know, it really doesn’t matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.

The answer is there has to be some form of punishment.
(On whether women who have an abortion should be punished. Later he did attempt to reverse his position on the issue.)

Yeah that’s her with the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful… I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.
Donald Trump

(Donald Trump mocks a reporter with disability.)

Hillary Clinton once stated that half of the people who supported Donald Trump, and his views (as illustrated above), could be put in a ‘basket of deplorables,’ a comment for which she later apologised, and retracted.

Despite her retraction and apology, I would desribe many, if not all, of the views expressed by Mr Trump during the presidential campaign as deplorable.

Regardless of what had happened, we should all take great comfort from the fact that Hillary Clinton, despite failing to collect the requisite number of electoral colleges, is winning the overall popular vote with 59,676,869 votes, to Mr Trump’s 59,470,228 votes at the time of publication.

‘How is that comforting?’ I hear you ask. Remember, no matter who occupies the Oval Office, at least we know that more Americans embraced Hillary Clinton’s message of dignity, hope, humanity, and unity, than Donald Trump’s crass, populist, xenophobic nationalism – and that should give us all hope in the future.

Good luck America, good luck Planet Earth, but buckle up, because this is likely to be a rough ride!

… just remember to be kind to your American family and friends – they will need you now more than ever.

And why it might be a rough ride? Political operators on the far-right of politics in the United States, and around the world, were quick to congratulate president-elect Trump, offer their respective interpretation of his election, and feel encouraged and validated by his victory:

(‘Congratulations to the new president of the United States Donald Trump and the free American people!’)

(‘Their world is collapsing. Ours is being built.’)
