Recruiting and social networking

HumanResourcesLawyers Weekly reported today on Ernst & Young’s successful graduate recruitment drive assisted by their Facebook strategy.

The article entitled ‘Secrets of graduate recruiting linked to Facebook’ (12/11/2009) illustrates the potential for corporate social networking when the media is utilised appropriately. Ernst & Young credited a 20% increase in graduate applications to its Facebook strategy.

The Ernst & Young Careers Facebook page currently has over 10,000 fans, illustrating that a well-planned, strategic social media presence is capable of producing outstanding results.

Ernst & Young also has a Twitter presence which appears to be another well planned social media communications tool with regular, weekly, updates on a range of issues from services provided by Ernst & Young to upcoming seminars and, among other things, cross-promotion for the Ernst & Young Careers Facebook page.
